Why bother with an expensive gym membership that you may or may not use regularly, when you can play a sport you enjoy and get fit at the same time?
It’s a no-brainer…
You know how it is. You’re back to work after the annual gorge on copious amounts of food and you’ve decided you must be punished for enjoying yourself. It’s time to get fit and you really mean it this time.
But most of us have been here before. You joined the gym or similar last year and the year before that, but eventually your strict routine falters usually because life just gets in the way.
Sure, some of you may actually enjoy a gym workout and regularly attend. Good for you! This is for the rest of us, though.
I’ve always found the key to keeping fit is to make sure it’s something you enjoy. I enjoy competitive sport, such as football and squash, which is why I set up Stamford Indoor Football.
If you live in the area and you’re looking for ways to get fit or lose weight in Stamford without the pressure or cost of a gym membership, then joining a local sports club is perfect for you.
We have been playing 5-a-side football indoors since March 2018 every Tuesday at 8pm. The group is has a range of ages (18+) and skill levels, as well as different standards of fitness, so you don’t need to worry about any of that if you join.
While the games are competitive, they are just that – a game. We don’t take things too seriously, as all of us just want to play a decent game of indoor football without it being treated like a professional league.
And the best thing? There is no long-term commitment or membership fee. You get out as much as you put in.
How to join?
We run a first-come first-served system via WhatsApp. Simply join the group on WhatsApp and when the message is sent out asking for players, respond with your name and, as long as you’re one of the first 12 to respond, you’ll be listed to play.
